  • What is it that makes you you?

In Chapter 11 Derek Parfit (“Personal Identity” page 520) describes a situation where he seems to be both on Earth and on Mars at the same time. 

  • What’s going on in this scenario? 
  • How could this be possible – and, if it is possible what does it say about identity?
