Respond to  2 students discussion using the rise Model

Due Saturday November 25, 2023 by 11:00 pm

Must Read Everything:

Reply to at least two classmate’s posts, applying the RISE Model for Meaningful Feedback

I will also show an example below of how the response needs to be addressed.

Here’s an example of how the response should look. Please don’t copy it.

The response to the classmate need to be just like this.

Example Response (Response Needs to be writen just like the response below No copying)

RISE Feedback:

REFLECT: I concur with “Action plans should reflect the type of services that are needed and have an idea of the expected outcome of the services” because it is in line with Hatch and Hartline’s intentional school counseling guidelines in regards to determining students needs.

INQUIRE: Can you further explain what “closing-the-gap action plans” are?

SUGGEST: I encourage you to revisit Hatch and Hartline’s MTMDSS tier interventions in order to add a citation that would illustrate your example on bullying prevention efforts.

ELEVATE: What if you re-purposed “For example, after a needs assessment, the school is having problems with bullying” as “Following Trish Hatch’s MTMDSS tier based interventions, if the school is having problems with bullying, after a needs assessment, we could… citation…”  for a more weighted argument?

Response 1- Ashley

A phenomenological study is one type of qualitative research method that aims to capture information about the experience of the study’s participants in order to “understand the essence” of the experiment from their point of view (McMillan, 2016). This type of study can be used to explore why no two people will have the exact same recollection and perspective even when they experience identical events under the same conditions. Researchers might ask the participants to share their experience by telling a story based on the research question they are aiming to answer, such as asking school counselors to go into detail about their beliefs on building relationships with their students in a study centered around school counselor and student rapport. If I were to plan to conduct a phenomenological study and wanted to improve the trustworthiness of my work, I would first want to be sure that my participant population is diverse enough and includes those with significant experience around the study’s research topic. Through purposeful sampling, I can better ensure that the participants have an in-depth knowledge of the subject and can provide the study with deeper insights. I would use multiple data collection methods, such as interviews, observations, and field notes so that I have many resources of data to draw from and can have a more comprehensive understanding of the study’s essence (McMillan, 2016).

Response 2- Stacy

Select one of the methods of qualitative study.

A case study is a  method of qualitative study, that is an investigation of one entity, which is carefully demised and characterized by time and place (McMillan, 2016). This type of qualitative study is utilized to look at people, a small group of participants, or a group as a whole. A case study example can be that the research could take place at a school for over two months.  A  case study suggests concisely exploring the main challenges inherent to the process of developing a case study, also attempting to suggest some practices that can increase its reliability, construct validity, and internal and external validity (Quintão, C., Andrade, P., & Almeida, F. 2020).

How would you improve the strength of that study?

Once the researcher has chosen this kind of study, we need to identify a detailed description, appropriate research questions, and the methods that are going to bring strength to the case study. This type of qualitative research aims to be used to help understand motives, trends, beliefs, and motivations however, using the Case study approach requires intensive research and investigation by doing observations, interviews, oral narrative forms, and other types of tools that help gather this kind of data.
