1.I have become more proficient in nursing research because of the course. Evidence-based practice majorly focuses on statistical analysis and research techniques to identify prevalent issues and address them to improve the competencies of nursing students (Nair et al., 2021). In this regard, I have advanced my knowledge of statistical analysis, study design, and research techniques. My ability to assess current research comprehensively and determine the quality and applicability of evidence is greatly enhanced by the comprehensive understanding I have acquired. Using these abilities, I can actively support evidence-based nursing practices by conducting research that influences clinical judgment. In addition to emphasizing the value of keeping up with changing methodologies, the course developed a sense of accountability to maintain the highest standards of precision and rigor in research. Such newfound knowledge not only strengthens my capacity to navigate and participate in the nursing scholarly discourse but also demonstrates my dedication to using evidence-based practices to advance the practice of nursing.

The course thoroughly examined the moral issues central to evidence-based practice and nursing research. I developed a thorough awareness of the moral factors that guide choices in healthcare, highlighting the importance of respecting moral standards and putting patients’ needs first. This understanding acts as an ethical framework for me, directing my actions to guarantee that all decisions I make are founded on empathy and integrity. Evidence-based practice requires compliance with the Belmont ethical principle in research and care (Contreras et al., 2021). As a result, the course raised my understanding of the ethical issues in the healthcare industry by covering subjects like informed consent, privacy, and treating study subjects equitably. With this knowledge, I can handle challenging moral decisions and create a setting where self-directed patient-centered care is morally and scientifically valid, enhancing confidence and wellness in provided care.

One recurring theme in the class was the changing nature of care. Particularly, nursing is constantly changing, and advanced nurses must constantly research and update their competency for relevance in practice and to ensure the safety of the patients (Calero et al., 2019). I now recognize that the discipline is always changing, with new developments in research, technology, and healthcare procedures constantly changing the terrain. As such, my work ethic will strongly emphasize the value of continuous education. Choosing to embrace continuous education is not an option but a must if you want to keep up with the most recent advancements. This dedication puts me in an advantageous position to anticipate patterns and adjust proactively, promoting adaptability and flexibility in my specialization. My commitment is to continue being an informed and skilled member of the medical field, making sure that I make a meaningful contribution to the growing body of research surrounding evidence-based nursing and, in the context of a constantly shifting healthcare landscape, improving patient experience and outcomes.

2. Throughout the duration of this course, I have embarked on a transformative journey from understanding nursing inquiry to applying it in nursing practice. The course’s design has facilitated the development of my role as an advanced practice nurse and has honed my skills as a competent research consumer. Guided by an evidence-based practice paradigm, I have acquired essential information literacy and critical appraisal skills. These skills, when combined with clinical judgment and patient preferences, have empowered me to make evidence-based decisions, catalyzing change in the healthcare delivery system (Melnyk & Fineout-Overholt, 2015).The first learning outcome resonated with my ambition to enhance clinical practice through research. I have learned to apply the research process to improve evidence-based clinical practice and contribute to knowledge development. This process involves identifying a research question, conducting a literature review, undertaking a study, and analyzing and interpreting the results. This process has enabled me to use research findings to inform my practice and promote patient outcomes (Polit & Beck, 2017).The course also emphasized the integration of theory, evidence, clinical judgment, research, and interprofessional perspectives. Through this, I have learned to use translational processes to improve practice and associated health outcomes for patient aggregates. The focus on interprofessional collaboration has underlined the importance of team-based healthcare delivery, enhancing my ability to work effectively within diverse healthcare teams (Reeves, Pelone, Harrison, Goldman, & Zwarenstein, 2017).My understanding of the ethical conduct of research has deepened. I have examined critical ethical aspects, such as informed consent, confidentiality, and data integrity, ensuring my commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards in any research I undertake (Resnik, 2015).The course has also equipped me with the ability to evaluate evidence for improving advanced nursing practice using critical appraisal techniques. These techniques have allowed me to scrutinize research articles’ validity and reliability, ensuring that my practice is grounded in credible and robust evidence (Gibson & Martin, 2019).Finally, I have learned to articulate the evidence base for practice decisions to a variety of audiences, emphasizing the credibility of information sources and their relevance to the practice problem confronted. This skill has allowed me to engage in meaningful dialogue with patients, colleagues, and policymakers, promoting evidence-based practice within the healthcare system (Dobson, 2017).
