While some assignments can be a bit more creative and involve media, improving your writing skills, and learning to support an argument effectively are also vital skills. Toward that end, the goal here is to write a clear, concise argument (2 – 3 full double spaced pages) exploring the option below.  This assignment must be submitted in Word.

  • Use one or more theories from epistemology and/or metaphysics to discuss how you know you are or are not a simulation, matrix, or hologram. What confirms to you are alive, unique and vita?
    • Pick one (simulation, matrix, or hologram) and briefly describe the theory. Include in your discussion what indicates to you, this mode of being is accurate or inaccurate, and at the same time name one or more supporters of the theory.
    • Define and describe the theories you will use (skepticism, empiricism, dualism, constructivism, etc) to address the claims.
    • Use the theory to refute the claims or explain how we can never be sure.

Your papr will be written at a college level with an introduction (one that indicates what would be covered and in what order, body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Your ideas should then unfold in well-supported body paragraphs, using intext citations to support your work and to show why you say what you do. Conclude your papr inviting your reader to “take action” or “to agree” with you, based on your argument.

All formatting for the papr (headers, page numbers, margins, lines, works cited/references) must be provided using MLA, APA, or the like.

**Remember – any resource that is listed on the resource page must have an in-text citation in the papr to match or this is considered plagiarism.
