Please post 2 or more peer responses
In the response posts, remember to demonstrate you have read and understood the student’s post by taking their discussion to the next level through your responses to the following:
- Using your peer’s chosen foods, discuss any complications of acidity or alkalinity of foods on another organ or system in the body.
- How do acids and bases relate to your working environment? (For instance, you could consider the chemicals in a cleaning solution.)
Please be sure to validate your opinions and ideas with citations and references in APA format.

Using this week’s resource, what is the pH of the food you’ve consumed, and how do they contribute to the acidity or alkalinity of the body? Specifically, discuss an organ or system in the body. You should include outside resources and cite them according to APA.
- String cheese has a pH balance ranging from 5.0 to 5.9, which is slightly past neutral on the pH scale (Taneya, n.d.).
- Greek yogurt has a pH balance of 4.0 to 4.6 which is acidic (Raswant, 2023).
- Ripe banana pH balance is 6.7 to 7.4 which is alkaline. The riper the banana, the more alkaline it is (Kerri, 2022).
Are there specific conditions that might benefit from consuming more acidic foods or alkaline foods?
- The alkaline diet is claimed to have health benefits such as losing weight, more energy, and minimizing chronic conditions, but these are all unproven according to, Persensky (2022).
