2. At Porter’s House, we strive to help children overcome obstacles in order to grow and thrive across various settings. We firmly believe that in order for this to happen, we must first NURTURE children by providing them with a safe and encouraging environment, one that enables them to build healthy relationships. The values they display are social and emotional skills for children and teens in diverse communities, these groups and sessions are held by professionals with social work backgrounds and experience in dealing with children and young adults who may display aggressive behaviors towards authoritative figures. Training is provided on de-escalation and restraints if needed, CPR and first aid training are mandatory and paid for by this company. The employees, the children, and the parents of the children being serviced all rave about the program and the skills they offer from learning how to cope with different emotions to the breathing and calm down techniques used so children can learn to self sooth. This place seems like an impactful, and affordable program for families who are considered to be living in poverty.
