An Assisted living facility (ALF) allows the elderly to keep more of their independence. It is important for seniors to maintain as much of their independence as they can. Most want to stay home but then can not do so because they are in need of some supervision and assistance with meal preparations and even companionship. These facilities gives the older adults care in a residential setting. It can provide as stated earlier social engagement and a healthier lifestyle for the senior.

An Intermediate care facility (ICF) is a group home that provides special medical support for individuals who have physical or behavioral issues. They have services to help seniors become more independent. These homes are for adults with developmental, or intellectual disabilities and medical challenges.

Long-term care facility (LTC) is a facility that provides medical and personal support to seniors who can no longer live independently. These are different from short-term care and are typically about 12 or more months. It also does not have outcomes that are defined. These seniors are unable to perform daily tasks and need a safe environment to live and receive care.

Room and board facilities offer medical care, some more than others, and are sort of like an apartment complex. Board and care facilities are essential like an assisted living community but smaller and more intimate.

I would like to do our future assignments on ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES (ALF). What do you ladies think?
