Hi Paramdeep, Luz and Class,
Great discussion starter and appreciate these thoughts shared. We can compare this somewhat I believe with the COVID-19 vaccination and the opinions on the pandemic which we watched caused much controversy in the U.S. We have seen so many lives affected by it, mandated it in many states, and we are still dealing with it. This is a great example of how science was obvious to some, but not to others, along with people on both sides of the fence regarding the outcomes and whether they are predictable as stated or not. I know this is a touchy subject for many people. In many states, the Covid mandate created a lot of controversies; both sides had compelling reasons and for the most part, handled the mandate with controversy. I think we would find the same situation with sustainability initiatives, there will be very strong opinions on both sides of the issue.
Class, cost is an issue with sustainability efforts, do you think some communities simply don’t have the revenue to adopt best practices? Do you think over time this would create healthy communities and unhealthy ones? Thoughts anyone?
